## Advisor, Student Financial Services
Owens Community College is seeking a dedicated Advisor, Student Financial Services to join our team at our Toledo-area campus. This is a full-time, salaried position with a Monday through Friday schedule.
In this role, you'll be the go-to person for students navigating their financial journey at Owens. You'll manage a caseload of students, providing personalized guidance on payment options, financial aid eligibility, residency status, and academic standing. You'll work hand-in-hand with academic advisors to ensure students stay on track, proactively reaching out to those who might be at risk of financial enrollment issues.
### What You'll Do
- Serve as a primary point of contact for your assigned student caseload, building strong relationships and understanding each student's unique needs.
- Guide students through financial enrollment management, including payment plans, aid applications, and understanding their financial responsibilities.
- Collaborate with the advising team and department chairs to boost student success and retention.
- Stay current on federal and state regulations, as well as college policies, to provide accurate information.
- Document all student interactions in Banner and use a variety of tech tools—including Degree. Works, Onbase, and Department of Education systems—to manage your work efficiently.
- Assist with special events and projects, both on and off campus, as needed.
### What You Bring
- **Education:** A Bachelor's degree is required.
- **Experience:** At least two years of direct service to college students or in a similar customer service environment.
- **Skills:** Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle stressful situations professionally. You should be adaptable, able to juggle multiple tasks, and comfortable using a range of software and databases.
- **Knowledge:** Familiarity with Banner, Degree. Works, Onbase, and financial aid systems (like COD, NSLDS, CPS) is a plus.
